Itinerary
Day 1 Colombo
Arrive in Colombo and check in to your hotel. Spend the afternoon resting after your flight. Take a short orientation walk if time allows. Enjoy dinner and relax overnight in the city.
Day 2 Kandy
Drive to the hill capital of Kandy. Visit local landmarks along the way. In the evening, explore the city on a guided walk. Overnight stay in Kandy.
Day 3 Knuckles Mountains
Embark on a hike through the Knuckles range. Take in panoramic views and lush forests. Pause for a picnic lunch in the wild. Return to Kandy for the night.
Day 4 Nuwara Eliya
Board a scenic train through misty hills to Nuwara Eliya. Visit a tea plantation and learn the art of tea making. Stroll through the town’s colonial streets. Relax overnight in cool highland surroundings.
Day 5 Horton Plains to Ella
Trek across Horton Plains to World’s End viewpoint. Spot wildlife in the grasslands. Continue by road to Ella in the afternoon. Settle into this laid-back mountain town.
Day 6 Ella
Hike to Little Adam’s Peak in the morning. Visit the famous Nine Arch Bridge. Explore the lively town center at leisure. Overnight stay in Ella.
Day 7 Yala
Travel south to Yala National Park. Head out on an evening safari. Watch for leopards, elephants and abundant birdlife. Spend the night near the park.
Day 8 Udawalawe to Mirissa
Begin with a morning safari in Udawalawe. Look out for elephants and water birds around the reservoir. Continue your journey to Mirissa. Unwind by the beach in the evening.
Day 9 Colombo
Enjoy a relaxed morning by the sea. Take in the last of Sri Lanka’s coastal beauty. Transfer back to Colombo by road. Depart for your onward journey.
